An information and networking session dedicated to the theme of active and healthy aging under the title of “Research & Innovation for the Promotion of Active and Healthy Aging” was held on June 26 at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra (FMUC).
The Health Cluster Portugal (HCP), the Framework Program Promotion Office (GPPQ) and Bayer were responsible for the organization of this event.
CCG participation in the event
The CCG – Centre for Computer Graphics participated in this event, due to the victory at Bayer’s Hackathon on the theme of active aging.
João Moutinho, the development coordinator of the applied research domain UMC (Urban and Mobile Computing) of the CCG, participated in the roundtable “Open Innovation for the Promotion of Active and Healthy Aging”, which took place at 4.30 p.m.
The UMC is working on projects related to health, innovation and healthy aging, as is the case with the Alertfalls project – falls prevention in older adults living alone.
Themes of the event
This meeting “Research & Innovation for the Promotion of Active and Healthy Aging” discussed the National Strategy for Active and Healthy Aging 2017-2025 and the Agenda for Research and Innovation in Health, Clinical Research, and Translation.
Other themes on the event schedule were:
- the establishment of priorities and the acceleration of the market entry of new health technologies;
- the mapping of competences in Portugal in the area of active and healthy aging;
- funding opportunities in the Horizon 2020 European program.
