Lung Cancer Specialist Researcher

A competition is open for the award of 1 Employment Contract for the position of (1) Medical Specialist (Lung Cancer Researcher);
Scientific Areas: Radiology, Oncology, Surgery, Epidemiology, Imaging, Genetics, Public Health, among others.
Admission requirements: Candidates must hold a PhD degree in areas relevant to lung cancer research, such as Oncology, Pulmonology, Radiology, Thoracic Surgery, Epidemiology, Genetics, Bioinformatics, or other related areas of Health Sciences and Biomedical Sciences.
Priority will be given to candidates with:
- Specialisation in Pulmonology, Medical Oncology, Thoracic Surgery or Radiotherapy, Subspecialization or proven experience in Thoracic Oncology. Ability to design and interpret clinical trials. Knowledge of molecular biology, bioinformatics and precision medicine. Ability to critically analyse scientific literature. Experience in participating in technical-scientific projects. Participation as author/co-author of scientific publications in the area.

Candidates with a Master's and/or Doctorate in related areas will be considered an asset: oncology, radiology, surgery, epidemiology, public health, among others.
2. FUNCTION DESCRIPTION:
The selected candidates will develop their activities in the CVIG (Computer Vision, Interaction and Graphics) group of the CCG/ZGDV, in particular, in research and support for the development and validation of algorithms and methods for detecting and diagnosing cancer phenotypes (lung and breast), based on the analysis of images and biomedical data.
3. WORKPLACE:
The work will be carried out at the facilities of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal (Setúbal Campus), at the Computer Graphics Centre, based in Guimarães, under the scientific guidance of Professor Dr. Miguel Angel Guevara López and Dr. Edel Garcia Reyes.
4. CONTRACT DURATION:
A permanent contract is scheduled to start in July 2025.
5. MONTHLY SALARY AMOUNT:
The salary amount will be defined according to the academic background, skills and abilities demonstrated by the candidates.
