Graduated in Mathematics (1986), completed a PhD in Technical Sciences (1997), and currently is a Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal. With more than three decades as a teacher/researcher in computer science, he specializes in machine learning, data analysis and visualization, computer vision, and artificial intelligence. He is the author of several articles in peer-reviewed journals, 2 books, book chapters, and papers in conference proceedings. He has also participated in various national and international scientific projects.
