Regret Note

The CCG/ZGDV Institute regrets with deep sadness the death of Professor Emeritus António Guimarães Rodrigues, former President of the Board of Directors, from 2000 to 2002.

Professor António Guimarães Rodrigues will forever remain in our history as a decisive figure in the refounding of the CCG/ZGDV and in its configuration process as an interface for the University of Minho.

His wake will take place today, November 6, 2023, from 5:30 pm, at the Church of S. José de S. Lázaro, in Braga. The funeral will take place tomorrow, November 7th, at 2:30 pm.

António Guimarães Rodrigues was born in 1950, in Lourenço Marques (currently Maputo), in Mozambique. He began his teaching career at the University of Lourenço Marques in 1973 and at UMinho in 1975. He was Full Professor and Director of the Department of Production and Systems and president of the School of Engineering, Pro-Rector and Rector (2002 to 2009).
