The year 2026 will confirm the consolidation strategy of the CCG/ZGDV Institute as a Research and Technology Organisation (RTO) dedicated to digital and computational technologies. With more than three decades of experience, CCG/ZGDV is now stronger and better prepared to face the challenges of a rapidly transforming economy, in which digitalisation, sustainability, and resilience are strategic imperatives.

This will be the final year of the current recognition cycle as a Centre for Technology and Innovation (CTI), under the legal framework established by Decree-Law No. 126-B/2021. The renewal of this status, now under a new Portuguese Science Law, requires not only the maintenance of technical and scientific excellence, but also the ability to anticipate trends, align with public policy priorities, and generate tangible impact on the economic and social fabric. It is within this context that the 2026 Activity Plan and Budget were designed.

Throughout 2026, CCG/ZGDV will continue to invest in the development of its human capital, intensify collaboration with the scientific and technological system, and strengthen partnerships with the business sector, responding to the needs of different industries with innovative and technologically advanced solutions. The expansion of activities across regional hubs, the consolidation of the technological infrastructure network, and continued investment in extra-European internationalisation will also be key priorities.

We are fully aware that CCG/ZGDV’s position within the national and European Science, Technology, and Innovation ecosystem demands a firm commitment to excellence, responsibility, and leadership. It is with this spirit that we approach the new year, determined to broaden our contribution to a more competitive, sustainable, and inclusive digital society. I count on all of you so that, together, we can make 2026 a year of affirmation and progress.
