Digital transformation across the public sector, economy and society is a key driver of regional competitiveness. In this context, the Northern Portugal Smart Specialisation Strategy (S3 NORTE 2030) identifies Technologies, State, Economy and Society (TEES) as a priority domain for driving innovation and economic modernisation.
PREI TEES brings together 68 organisations representing the regional innovation ecosystem, including R&D institutions, technology infrastructures, business associations and public authorities.
The InovTEES project strengthens the platform's capacity as a strategic coordination structure, promoting participatory governance, entrepreneurial discovery process development, and investment priority definition aligned with regional needs.
PROPOSED SOLUTIONS
Integrated institutional capacity building approach for PREI TEES, structured around four intervention areas: (1) platform management and development, (2) capacity building and dissemination, (3) smart specialisation value chain development, and (4) skills and competences needs identification.
The initiative aims to establish permanent monitoring, coordination and collaboration mechanisms across the regional innovation ecosystem.
In parallel, entrepreneurial discovery processes, TEES domain diagnostic updates, demonstration and dissemination activities, participation in national and international networks, and strategic studies will support investment priority identification, flagship project development, and collaborative strategy definition to strengthen Northern Portugal's competitiveness and digital transformation.
CCG/ZGDV CONTRIBUTION
As a project partner, CCG/ZGDV contributes to PREI TEES development through its expertise in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, software engineering, human-computer interaction and technological innovation.
CCG/ZGDV supports platform activity coordination, collaborative initiative development, and stronger links between scientific, technological, business and public sector organisations.
It also contributes to strategic diagnostic development, entrepreneurial discovery processes, investment priority definition and project results dissemination, strengthening PREI TEES governance, fostering collaborative innovation, and promoting digital solution adoption to enhance regional competitiveness.
