CCG/ZGDV Institute will be present at this year's edition of the Science Meeting on July 4th, on the panel "Are AI and ICT a Medicine or a Disease?" in the Laboratory Room.

The 2024 edition of the Science Meeting will take place this year, between the 3rd and 5th of July, in Porto, namely at Alfândega do Porto. It is an annual meeting that brings together various entities and scientists from different areas to debate the present and future of the world of science.

This year, CCG/ZGDV will host a session, in partnership with IT (Telecommunications Institute), on July 4th at 2:30 p.m. under the theme “Are AI and ICT a Medicine or a Disease”. This session will address technological developments in the healthcare sector, mainly using artificial intelligence (AI) across various spectrums.

What are the opportunities and risks in the present and the future? What is the potential? A session will attempt to answer these questions from various engineering, clinical, ethical, and industrial perspectives.

Ana Aguiar, Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, will moderate this intervention. It will feature Patrícia Bota, Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon, Miguel Lopez, Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal, André Valente, Fundação Champalimaud, Edel Reys, CCG/ZGDV Institute, and Catarina Farinha, from Unbabel.
