FRAMEWORK
Around the world, the mobility of people and goods is conditioned by existing transport infrastructure. These transport infrastructures depend on constant maintenance to have acceptable performance, both in terms of structural safety and conditions of use.
The focus of this project lies on the maintenance of transport infrastructures, namely, on the development of a holistic management platform to be used in the maintenance of civil engineering structures (e.g. bridges, tunnels).
This Asset Management platform is aimed at road and rail structural assets, which is based on the GOA management software, developed by Betar.
It will integrate innovative functionalities, applied mainly to inspection and decision support activities, supported by the latest artificial intelligence and information visualization and analysis techniques.
PROPOSED SOLUTIONS
In addition to the objectives directly related to the development of a new bridge management system, there are also other important objectives related to the new acquisition tools and the exchange of information between all modules.
- Development of a new, modular and scalable web platform that can be continually updated with new features and modules;
- Development of an intelligent interface platform to be used in the field by the team of inspectors;
- Development of new inspection equipment leveraging existing commercial tools (e.g. commercial drones, cameras, etc.) and algorithms/methods in the area of computer vision and deep learning;
- Development of mixed reality tools for bridge information management with Visual Analytics and Augmented Reality techniques;
- Development of algorithms for exchanging information between new inspection equipment sensors and BrIM models;
- Development of digital image correlation algorithms for post-processing of inspection measurements;
- Development of the predictive maintenance management module, which will assist in defining priorities for maintenance works;
- Development of the decision-making module, which will help define the type of intervention to be taken, considering the associated cost-benefit ratio.
CCG/ZGDV CONTRIBUTION
CCG/ZGDV contributes to GOA.BI, through the CVIG and HTIR departments
- Development of mixed reality tools, such as a mobile application, to assist maintenance technicians with in-situ bridge/tunnel inspections.
- Development of a holographic application that allows not only to visualize data from inspections carried out, but also to manipulate 3D models of bridges in 3D and visualize anomalies in them.
- Development of a web platform with functionalities similar to mobile and holographic applications, such as viewing and manipulating 3D models, consisting of an interface that makes it easier to enter textual information and manage stored data.
