Ricardo J. Machado
Full Professor of Information Systems Engineering at UMinho, he was Vice-Rector of this institution for several years and a member of various management committees for initiatives related to innovation and industry. He is also Executive Chairman and Scientific Director and the scientific coordinator of the EPMQ department at CCG/ZGDV. He has created various methods and tools for analyzing requirements and designing architecture, including the shobi-PN meta-model. He holds four patents and co-authored over 200 publications on ICT applied to health, energy, and the environment. He is the editor and co-author of several books. He has received several awards and honors, including the ‘IEEE MGA Achievement Award 2009’ and the ‘2016 APLOG Annual Logistics Excellence Award’. He received the DEng degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Porto, the MSc and PhD degrees in Computer Science and Engineering, and the Dr. Habil academic title in Information Systems Engineering from the UMinho.
He promoted the creation of the ProChild CoLab Against Poverty and Social Exclusion and the DTx Digital Transformation CoLab.
