CCG/ZGDV is present at the II International Meeting on Environmental Education, highlighting the intersection between Artificial Intelligence and Sustainability

The CCG/ZGDV Institute participated in the 2nd International Meeting on Environmental Education, an event promoted by Laboratório da Paisagem. This event brought together experts and researchers to discuss the role of technology in building a more sustainable future.

During the event, Nuno Sousa, from the Department of Computer Vision, Interaction and Graphics (CVIG), presented the impact of immersive realities in several projects, highlighting their potential for environmental awareness and interactive education. His intervention highlighted how these technologies can offer more engaging and practical experiences in transmitting knowledge about ecological awareness and education for sustainability.

Pedro Pereira, from the Department of Software Engineering and Data Intelligence (EPMQ), presented contributions from the CCG/ZGDV Institute in the Be.Neutral project, demonstrating how Artificial Intelligence can be a valuable resource in predicting and analysing urban data to promote greater sustainability. His presentation highlighted the potential of AI in optimising resources and creating innovative solutions for the environmental challenges of cities.

For Maria Luís Miranda, Science and Business Manager, "we were also able to convey the history of the CCG/ZGDV Institute as a relevant partner in the creation of innovative solutions, such as avatars, as is the case of Eva (an avatar created to be a virtual assistant for the Tech Training Hub) who was present as a digital presenter, as well as other innovative solutions, tools based on AI and ML, highlighting the role of technology in the creation of new educational strategies as well as in leveraging digital solutions that contribute to a more sustainable future."
