As part of Innovation Day, an initiative promoted by Startup Braga in partnership with the Academic Association of the University of Minho (AAUM), Ricardo J. Machado, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CCG/ZGDV, participated in the panel "From the Laboratory to the World: validating, protecting, and scaling up."

The event brought together specialists from various fields to discuss the maturity journey of a new idea, from research and intellectual protection to its scalability in the market. The roundtable also featured Anabela Carvalho from PATENTREE, Mónica Gonçalves from 2CA-Braga (Clinical Academic Center - Braga), and Simão Soares from SilicoLife, who shared different perspectives on the challenges and opportunities of innovation applied to the business and academic worlds.

Ricardo J. Machado highlighted the role of CCG/ZGDV as a research centre that acts as a bridge between academia and industry, facilitating knowledge transfer and the implementation of innovative solutions in companies and organisations. "Technological innovation requires a structured approach involving scientific validation, knowledge protection, and a well-defined market strategy. CCG/ZGDV has played a crucial role in this process, supporting startups and companies in their journey of growth and consolidation," he stated.

The panel reinforced the importance of creating synergies between different stakeholders, from academic institutions to technology companies, to ensure that the innovation developed in laboratories is transformed into concrete solutions with a global impact. Innovation Day thus established itself as a space for reflection and sharing for all working at the intersection of scientific research and the market.
