FRAMEWORK

The Geira: Via Romana XVIII, due to its exceptional archaeological remains and its location in the diverse and beautiful mountainous landscape of the Mountains of Gerês, is a recognised asset of Portuguese cultural and natural heritage, classified as a National Monument, which the Municipality of Terras de Bouro aims to nominate for the World Heritage List.

Its conservation, study and enhancement have been one of the guiding principles of the development policy of the municipality of Terras de Bouro for decades, particularly in the field of cultural tourism and related economic activities.

The aim is to provide, through up-to-date information made available in various formats, a greater appreciation of heritage, memory and cultural assets among the population, in a pleasant and entertaining way, presenting the Geira as a public asset that is accessible to all.

Proposed Solutions

The proposed solution consists of a platform that promotes Geira: Via Romana XVIII, its landscape as a place of history, culture and science, and provides an enriching experience along the route in Terras de Bouro (Mile XVII to XXXIV).
