27 September, 2023

Promoted by the School of Engineering of the University of Minho (EEUM), the Exhibition "Engineering at the Service of Society" was on display in the central nave of the Azurém campus, on September 27th, and proved to be an excellent opportunity for networking with Spin-offs, Interfaces University of Minho, CoLABS, Startup Braga and Set. Up Guimarães.

The CCG/ZGDV Institute participated in the "Engineering at the Service of Society" Exhibition, where it showcased extended reality technologies, with special emphasis on virtual reality, applied to modifying cockpits.

The exhibition also included the presence of 25 startups and interfaces that showed the socioeconomic impact of the EEUM ecosystem, with innovative products and services, for the most diverse areas of activity.

Of particular note is the lecture “Knowledge and Innovation as levers of Economic Growth” given by Dr. Pedro Siza Vieira, former Minister of Economy, where he refers to the importance of "incorporating new ideas into your way of thinking and what you do offer to the market." "I think it's an example that is studied internationally, that of the University of Minho, for the impact it has on the region", he says.

As part of the activities marking the 50th anniversary of the University of Minho, this initiative highlighted the connection between engineering and society and the importance of knowledge transfer.
